Our Story

Fieldfare Candle Company is an independent home fragrance brand, created in 2019. We are a husband and wife team; Matthew is chief candle maker whilst pattern designer Sarah is in charge of our packaging.

 

In 2022, we opened our shop in Maws Craft Centre, a converted tile factory nestled next to the River Severn in the Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire. With an attached workshop, you can see us pouring our candles and browse our large selection of candles, tealights and diffusers, along with handmade homeware and artisan gifts. 

Why "Fieldfare" Candle Company?
A keen birdwatcher, Matthew is often found wandering the local Shropshire hills, binoculars around his neck, hoping for a glimpse. So the choice of name for his burgeoning creative business seemed an obvious decision. A "fieldfare" is a large thrush which appears in woodland in Winter, feeding on berries and having migrated here from Scandinavia.

All our candles are made from sustainably sourced soy wax. Our packaging is made from recycled cardboard.
